Captain America: Winter Soldier as 80s Action Movie [VHS Trailer]

A cheesy ’80s VHS style trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier by Frank Ireland aka ChiefBrodyRules. He mixes in clips from movies like RoboCop and Die Hard, along with a synthwave soundtrack and simulated VHS deterioration, to give it the feel of a worn out tape of an R-rated movie you copied from the local rental store. At least that’s what it brings to my mind. Check it out below.

It’s not too far off from the real trailer for Captain America (1990) starring Matt Salinger (son of J.D. Salinger and better known to me as one of the Alpha Betas from Revenge of the Nerds). Actually, if they had only edited in clips from RoboCop and Die Hard into the 1990 Captain America it would have been so much better.

PLOT:
The year is 2007. Crime is at an all time high and the law has a plan to wipe it out! CAPTAIN AMERICA (Chris Evans), a Vietnam vet who was given super strength by a military scientist, Abraham Erskine (Cillian Murphy) is now America’s new crime fighter. When he refuses to kill an innocent Senator he is back stabbed by the very people who made him! He’s out for revenge. If you’re going to make enemies, you better make sure it’s not America!
